The Behavioral Health Network of Northeast Florida (BHNNEF) is a community developed mental health/substance abuse advisory and planning group dedicated to improved access to and quality of behavioral health wellness and recovery.

We envision a Northeast Florida community where all citizens experience optimal behavioral health.  To that end, the Network exists to promote the establishment of a System of Care that ensures prevention, early intervention, treatment and recovery services to the entire community through an integrated, culturally competent, evidence-based, best practices, person and family-centered approach.

Florida Medicaid Update February 3 2012

CMS-Denies-Florida-Proposals-for-Charges-to-Medicaid-Beneficiaries.

In a letter dated In Thursday, February 9, 2012, the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) advised Florida that the state "could not impose $10 monthly premiums on Medicaid beneficiaries."  CMS also denied the state's proposal to charge $100 co-pays for any non-emergency ER visits.  CMS noted that the proposals violated federal statutory requirements designed to shield poor people from additional costs.  CMS pledged in the letter to consider alternative approaches to meet the goal of promoting cost-effective use of hospital emergency department services.
